Like many of you, we have recently made adjustments to meetings and events and find ourselves working from afar more than usual. Working remotely can be a tricky balance but studies have shown that working remote can lead to great productivity.
As a virtual firm, we at TMC have years of practice communicating and using technology to successfully run a virtual business. Here are three simple tips for keeping things moving.
1. Set expectations.
Try to give both clients and colleagues clear deadlines, or at least an idea of when they might expect next project steps to be completed.
2. Confirm receipt.
There’s nothing worse than having to ask someone if they received a file or message you sent the previous day to zero response. If you got it, say you got it — if only to acknowledge, you won’t be able to do anything with it right away.
3. Use technology.
If you have a smartphone you can do a video call. If you have a computer you can use some of our favorite tools like Basecamp or DropBox for Business to keep your team connected and organized.
